Having listened to many stories of people being robbed, I've come to the conclusion that it is often within 2 months of moving house when the attack or burglery takes place. Exaclty why this should be I don't know, but I think the contributing factors could be stuff like -
1. The newcomer don't know the neighbours yet, thieves take advantage of this.
2. They see that boxes are put out after the move, and know that you don't know the neigborhood yet.
3. Directly after a move, you will not have assesed your security situation yet.

But this is all guesswork on my part. Whatever the case may be, if you move, you had better do your security assesment first, because you are a target.
